About the event
Resurgam’s 'Suppressed Voices' showcases vocal music from five centuries and a diversity of styles, from the renaissance polyphony of Byrd to folk traditions of our own time. All are voices suppressed by politics or war, religious persecution or enforced exile. Featuring works by some of the ‘Entartete’ composers suppressed by the Nazi regime, including Mendelssohn, Saguer, Zeisl, Distler and Milhaud.
